According to Fairfax County 2019 Health and Human Services Needs Assessment, 6.6% of the total population in Fairfax speaks English less than well, which is 2.1% higher than the average in the United States (4.5%), and almost triples the average in Virginia (2.6%). As Tina realizes that English is very important in everyday life, she is eager to improve herself to learn English with LCNV:

“Many people from different countries in the world live in America. English is the second language.

My own ability to read, speak, listen, and write English is very important in everyday life. I learned English at LCNV with the help of teachers. Now I can read, write, speak and listen. Although I am not proficient, it helps me to confidently integrate into a new life.

Thank you so much for everyone at James Lee Community Center helping me to study English.”

At LCNV, we believe that English is a survival skill. If you or someone you know need to improve their English skills, be a part of LCNV’s community and benefit from learning English with us.
