LCNV’s Senior Fellow, Dr. Carole Vinograd Bausell, recently wrote an article published in the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE) journal focused on racial equity and immigrant integration. In this article she emphasizes the concepts of equity and immigrant integration have consistently served as guiding lights in LCNV’s work with adult learners. She lists some of our initiatives and programs and ponders the nature of the student experience, particularly when multiple demographic factors such as race, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender, age, or language intersect. She also shares the experiences of two students whose personal journeys touched her deeply and reveal challenges faced by many others in our field.
