"Before I learned English, everything was difficult for me. I couldn’t go anywhere, I always went with my husband or my sons. I couldn’t drive because I didn’t understand the GPS. I was afraid I would get lost. I didn’t know anywhere or anyone. I could barely speak with people. But now I can write and read much better. I can go to restaurants with my friends. I can talk about the culture of my country to my classmates. My opinion is that anyone at any age can learn English. As you know, English is an international language and everybody needs it. I have resolved to learn more English because I want to eventually help women who can’t speak English. In the future I will write a book about my life learning English."

Learning English makes life better because before I learned English, I felt bad. I couldn’t do the most important things like go to the doctor, or get a driver’s license. Since starting English class, it gives me the opportunity to speak with people because no one in my class speaks Arabic. I have friends now to speak to. I would like to thank all my teachers. I want to tell them that you are wonderful people. You make our lives easier, what you do is sublime. By learning English, I can be involved, and I have a job. I can go to interviews for a better job. But my dream is to go to college. The English Empowerment Center gives me this opportunity to communicate with the personnel responsible for enrolling in the college or anywhere. Finally, I’m happy learning English.

Before I learned English, I used to feel afraid and confused when talking to people and I was afraid to make grammatical mistakes when I spoke. But when I started studying the English language, I became more f luent in speaking and I was less afraid, and I became open to conversation with others and understood them more. I even became more in touch with my daughter’s teacher to understand about my daughter’s level of education and how she is doing in school. Also, I want to complete my study of English to become stronger in the language to complete study in university to improve my academic achievement and I want to join an international advance program to receive a license to work as a dentist in the U.S.
