Volunteer Roles
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities that fit different interests, skills, and schedules:
1. Teacher
As a volunteer teacher, you’ll lead a class of adult learners, guiding them through our curriculum to improve their English language skills. You’ll create an engaging and supportive environment that encourages participation and fosters learning. This role is ideal for those with teaching experience or a passion for education.
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per week

2. Classroom Aide
As a classroom aide, you’ll work alongside our lead teachers to provide additional support to students during class. You’ll assist with group activities, answer individual questions, and help learners practice their English skills in a comfortable and supportive environment.

3. Tutor
As a tutor, you’ll work one-on-one or in small groups with learners who need extra support outside of class. Tutors focus on specific areas like reading, writing, or speaking, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs. This role is perfect for those who enjoy personalized teaching and mentoring.

4. BEST Plus Tester
BEST Plus Testers are trained to administer the BEST Plus test, an oral language proficiency assessment used to evaluate learners' progress. In this role, you’ll interact directly with students during testing sessions and record their performance.

5. Technology Support Volunteer
Assist students with using Zoom, accessing online learning platforms, and troubleshooting basic tech issues. This role is perfect for those who are tech-savvy and want to help others succeed in a virtual environment.

6. Administrative Support
If you prefer to contribute behind the scenes, we welcome volunteers to help with administrative tasks. From data entry to organizing materials, your support will help the center run smoothly.

7. Registration Assistant
During registration periods, you’ll help new students navigate the registration process, answer questions, and ensure they have the information they need. This role is perfect for detail-oriented volunteers who enjoy interacting with students and helping them feel welcome.

8. Special Event Volunteer
Assist with planning, setup, and day-of coordination for fundraisers, student celebrations, and community outreach initiatives. This role is great for those who prefer short-term, project-based volunteer work.

As a student advisor, you’ll work one-on-one with learners to guide them through goal-setting and educational planning.
