On the UN’s page for International Migrants Day, it states that “Throughout human history, migration has been a courageous expression of the individual’s will to overcome adversity and to live a better life.” On the journey to exploring and settling down in another country, there are many difficulties along the way, and language is an indispensable tool to navigate and become an integral part of the community. At LCNV, we salute the courage of our learners by providing them with the language education they need to thrive. Elena shares:
“Learning English makes my life better. I love to travel to different countries. English is a global language. A lot of people speak English, now I can talk with people and understand them. Before I couldn’t take a driver’s test because I couldn’t understand the instructor, now I have a license and drive a car. I made new friends. I can read English books. Learning English has made my life more interesting.”
LCNV supports individuals in our community to learn basic English skills, so that they can more fully participate in our community. If you believe in our cause, support us by volunteering with us or making a donation today.
